A female member of a royal family, especially the daughter of a king or queen and wife of a prince. Also called Her Royal Highness or Her Imperial Highness.
It is true that the Princess’s future subjects have known relatively little of her hitherto. This is a matter of satisfaction rather than regret, for her personality has been wisely guarded and sheltered and allowed to develop without undue consciousness of rank or position.
But a girl should be allowed to interest herself in other things too. And she certainly shouldn’t be forced to choose between being a princess and being a cowgirl or an oceanographer or a mermaid. Princesses are wonderful because they are smart and brave, kind and caring. They aren’t perfect, but they try their best. They learn from their mistakes and move forward. They don’t let fear keep them down. And they are beautiful inside and out. It’s no wonder I looked up to princesses so much growing up!
