A female member of a royal family, or the wife of a prince. Princesses often carry out duties and responsibilities related to their royal status, including attending events and promoting charitable causes.
In some cases, the word princess can be used as a term of endearment to indicate love for a woman. For example, throughout the 1997 film Life Is Beautiful, protagonist Guido calls his beloved Dora a princess. A princess is also a card in the Tarot pack, coming between the 10 and the prince (Jack).

Princess Alice was the granddaughter of Queen Victoria and the great-grandmother of Queen Elizabeth II. She was a resourceful and resilient lady with a strong sense of duty. Princess Alice is remembered especially for rescuing the Jewish Cohen family from Nazi persecution in World War II. She hid them in her apartment, using her deafness to evade detection by the Germans and deflect their questions. Her actions won her the Righteous Gentile award from Israel Holocaust museum Yad Vashem in 1993.
Princesses are not only heiresses; they are often leaders and public figures with many interests outside of their royal status. They are known to be a role model for young girls. They are usually incredibly kind and generous, even towards their enemies, which is a princess trait that we should all try to emulate. They are also intelligent and love to read, which is another great princess quality!
