Strong Princesses

A princess is a female member of a royal family, usually the daughter of a king or queen. The male equivalent is a prince (from Latin princeps, meaning principal citizen).

The word princess comes from Greek and Roman mythology. It is also used as a title for women who hold power in the courts of nations, often in place of the term queen or empress.

Various types of princess have been created by Disney, including Snow White, Ariel, Jasmine, Merida and Rapunzel. Some have magic powers, others have no such ability at all but are still very strong and powerful.

A strong princess is a person who has a goal and does everything she can to reach it. She may have setbacks along the way but they do not stop her from achieving her goals.

She is motivated and has a strong reason for pursuing her goal. She is a strong leader and will speak up for herself or others when she needs to.

Strong princesses are also selfless, compassionate and brave. They want to see the world and are willing to help those in need.

The most popular Disney princesses are Snow White, Ariel, Jasmine, Belle and Tiana. They are royal by birth or married into royalty and are all able to speak to animals and other people. Some have magical powers such as Elsa from ‘Frozen’ who can create a snow monster with her hands and inadvertently freeze an entire kingdom. Other strong princesses are Moana who is able to heal the heart of Te Fiti and Kida who can sneeze life into existence.
